Respite Care in Memphis
Short-term stays with full care — for recovery, for caregiver relief, or to try the community before deciding.
Short-Term Stays
Everything a Full-Time Resident Receives, for as Long as You Need
Respite care at The Pointe at Kirby Gate is a short-term stay — from a few days to several weeks — in a fully furnished suite with the same meals, activities, and 24-hour care our permanent residents enjoy. There is no long-term commitment.
Families use respite care in three common situations:
- Recovery after a hospital stay or surgery — a safe, supported place to regain strength before returning home
- A break for family caregivers — travel, rest, or simply time to recharge, knowing your loved one is well cared for
- A trial stay — experience the community firsthand before making a permanent decision

How It Works
Arranging a Stay Is Simple
1. Call us. Tell us about your loved one’s needs and the dates you have in mind. We will confirm availability and quote a daily rate.
2. A short assessment. Our nurse reviews care needs and medications so everything is ready on day one.
3. Move in. The suite is furnished and waiting. Most families find that a respite guest settles in by the second day.
Respite care is billed by the day, with no deposit and no long-term contract. Many families who start with a respite stay later choose The Pointe as a permanent home — and the transition is seamless, because the suite, the staff, and the routine are already familiar.
